BREAKING: Four-Star Super Talent Commit to Virginia Tech

A four-star guard from Fort Lauderdale, is a key target for Virginia Tech in the 2025 recruiting class. Over the summer, he has surged in national rankings, receiving offers from Baylor, Michigan, and Miami, among others.

According to 247Sports, Able has accumulated 18 offers from a range of schools, including Virginia Tech, Miami, Wake Forest, Northwestern, Baylor, Boston College, Michigan, Xavier, Brown, Dartmouth, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia, Georgia State, Jacksonville, Minnesota, New Mexico State, St. John’s, and Stetson.

He has recently narrowed down his choices and plans to announce his commitment decision on Friday, August 30th. His final list of schools consists of Baylor, Boston College, Miami, Michigan, Northwestern, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and Xavier.

Able has expressed strong interest in Virginia Tech, noting, “I really like Virginia Tech. I would definitely say it’s a place where I can get a chance to play significant minutes, and it’s also a great academic institution.”

He is scheduled for an official visit to Blacksburg on October 4th. Additionally, he has visited Northwestern on August 1st, Wake Forest on August 2nd, and Miami on August 23rd.

 

2025 Guard Matthew Able

 

This summer, Able has stood out among the top recruits of the 2025 class, performing exceptionally well with Austin Rivers SE Elite. He scored 35 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a game against Southern Assault, which features four-star Caleb Steger, who also has an offer from Virginia Tech.

Able is known for his aggressive scoring ability and confidence on the court, with a knack for hitting key shots in clutch situations. Defensively, he is highly competitive and physical, demonstrating a balanced game with a high motor and relentless offensive drive. His athleticism and potential make him a promising addition to the 2025 recruiting class, with the potential to become a top collegiate scorer.
