Just In: PFF Analyst make a Hot Statement Concerning Two Utah Linebackers

As Utah gears up for the 2024 season, several players are projected to stand out in the 2025 NFL Draft. According to PFF analyst Trevor Sikkema, linebackers Lander Barton and Karene Reid are expected to be among the top talents at their position in the upcoming draft.

Although Reid is considered undersized for a linebacker, Sikkema highlights his exceptional “motor” and ability to make crucial adjustments and calls on the field as a team captain and multi-year starter. Sikkema also noted that Reid’s instincts, vision, and low missed tackle rate last year, despite his weight being under 230 lbs, make him a standout player.

Barton, on the other hand, possesses more traditional linebacker size for today’s NFL. After suffering a season-ending lower-body injury last year, he seems to have fully recovered and is ready for the 2024 season. Connor Rogers, Sikkema’s co-host on the NFL Stock Exchange, described Barton as a “hard hitter” who makes impactful tackles with purpose.

With Reid and Barton leading the way, Utah’s defense is well-positioned for success this season. Defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley will likely ensure both linebackers are placed in optimal positions to excel.

Don’t miss Utah’s season opener on Thursday, August 29, at 7:00 PM MT, where Reid and Barton will spearhead the Utes’ defense against Southern Utah.
