BREAKING: Nashville Predators Super Talent Trade To Rangers Confirmed

The New York Rangers are among the elite teams in the NHL and have a strong shot at clinching the Stanley Cup for the 2024-25 season. Although the team made only a few minor adjustments during the offseason, a recent trade proposal could enhance their offensive capabilities.

PuckPedia’s new PuckGM tool, which allows users to craft their own trades, featured a suggestion from one user to bring Philip Tomasino over from the Nashville Predators to the Rangers.

Predators get:

Matthew Robertson
2026 third-round pick

In the proposed trade, the Rangers would acquire unsigned restricted free agent forward Philip Tomasino from the Predators. Drafted in the first round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Tomasino has spent his first three years shifting between the AHL and NHL, suggesting that a change of environment might be beneficial for him.

During the previous NHL season, Tomasino scored 7 goals and tallied 13 assists, totaling 20 points in 41 games. He could potentially slot into a middle-six forward role for the Rangers.

In the trade, New York would send defenseman Robertson, a second-round pick from the 2019 NHL Draft, to Nashville. Robertson has spent the past three years in the AHL and has not yet made his NHL debut. He would provide additional depth to Nashville’s defense. Along with Robertson, the Predators would also receive a third-round pick to further enhance the trade offer.

Predators Wanted More Consistency From Tomasino

Tomasino was anticipated to provide the Predators with scoring depth in the middle of their lineup, but he has had difficulty maintaining consistency. In March, he was reassigned to the AHL, and following the move, Predators coach Andrew Brunette emphasized the need for Tomasino to demonstrate greater consistency in his play.
