Ismail Sy of King James Gospel has suggested that the Cleveland Cavaliers should consider trading for Atlanta Hawks star who recently earned a bronze medal with the Serbian National Team at the Olympics, had a standout performance in Paris, averaging 18.3 points per game during the tournament.
Cavs Urged to Acquire Serbian Olympic Star
Since transitioning from the Turkish Pro League to the NBA in 2017, Bogdan Bogdanovic has established himself as an exceptional shooter.
Over his seven NBA seasons, the 32-year-old has maintained a 38.4% shooting accuracy from three-point range on 6.5 attempts per game. He has also averaged 14.7 points, 3.3 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game. Bogdanovic received votes for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in both 2022 and 2024. His shooting prowess makes him a strong candidate for the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he would be a valuable addition.
Bogdanovic’s Fit In Cleveland
Among the Cleveland Cavaliers’ challenges in recent seasons, shooting has been a prominent issue. During last year’s playoffs, the team struggled with a 31.5% shooting rate from three-point range, which significantly contributed to their early exit after being eliminated by the Boston Celtics in five games. Donovan Mitchell couldn’t carry the entire load, highlighting the team’s shooting deficiencies.
Additionally, bench scoring has been a concern. The Cavaliers have only one reliable scorer off the bench, Caris LeVert, whose inconsistency affects the team’s performance. Beyond LeVert, Cleveland’s scoring depth is limited.
Bringing in a proven scoring threat and three-point shooter like Bogdan Bogdanovic could greatly enhance the Cavaliers’ prospects for the upcoming season. Although the Cavs signed guard Max Strus to a four-year deal last summer and he has been a starter, Bogdanovic’s superior stats in both points and three-point shooting make him an appealing option. Whether he would start or come off the bench, adding Bogdanovic would likely be a valuable move for the Cavs.
