As the recruitment process intensifies for Class of 2025 standout Eric Reibe, the 7-foot center has arranged an official visit to the UNC basketball program.
Having already visited Creighton and Harvard, Reibe—ranked among the top 35 recruits—plans to visit several prestigious schools including Kansas, Connecticut, Kentucky, North Carolina, Indiana, and Oregon.
Currently playing at Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, Reibe is a 247Sports Composite four-star recruit and the fourth-ranked center nationwide. His impressive size and shooting ability make him a highly sought-after player.
UNC has demonstrated the value of a strong three-point shooter in the frontcourt, with past players like Brady Manek, Pete Nance, and even the undersized Harrison Ingram making notable impacts from the perimeter. The prospect of a 7-footer like Reibe consistently hitting shots over defenders’ heads is exciting.
Additionally, UNC’s successful history with German players could be appealing to Reibe. Henrik Rödl, who played for Dean Smith from 1989-1993, won a national championship, while Ademola Okulaja, another German, played under Smith and Bill Guthridge from 1995-1999. Although Okulaja’s 1997 season should have ended with a national title, that’s a separate story.
